My old Kaiser Bas USB TV tuner when plugged into windows 8 ultrabook automatically installed a suitable driver, which carried over to windows 8.1 Kaiser Bas no longer makes them and has no software for windows 8 and above so I purchased media centre whichworked fine. I was aware it wasn't supported in windows 10, but liked windows 10 on a PC so upgraded the ultrabook thinking I could use the freeware Media Portal. Total Failure, Media Portal installed all sorts of things and slowed the boot up time to worsethan XP. Windows 10 couldn't find a driver for the USB TV tuner, despite using the compatibility assistant.
I uninstalled media portal and the ultrabook (ASUS Core i7 8GB DDR3 RAM) is back to its zippy self, booting in 8 seconds as advertised. What I need is to locate the driver in windows 8 and use compatibility mode.
