1980s Levinson Blade Discussion in 'Non. Beautiful guitar. I have 2 x Levinson Blade strats and they are awesome. That could even be early 90's. What are the first 2 digits of the serial? Click to expand. 11 are the first two digits. I agree with Yale that they were made to iron out common Strat issues, mainly the trem tuning stability. It's a LEVINSON BLADE RH-4 CLASSIC.MINT CONDITION,comes with original case,tremolo arm,strap etc,it a see through honey finish with sepia colored pick guard and gold fittings with a maple neck,I'm sure it is at least 10 years old can't trace the serial number which is. 137583 any help would be appreciated,thanks.

I know some were made in Switzerland, some in England, and I think some in Japan.Actually thats all wrong and all right.They were designed and specced by an English dude, mainly manufactured in Japan with some assembly in Japan, and then setup and shipped from Swizerland.I've never heard a bad thing about oneYou certainly wont hear me saying anything bad about mine.I would take it over any Fender Tele I have ever tried.

Levinson aren't really mainstream enough to warrant many 'collectors' of their instruments so I wouldn't pin hopes on getting a huge valuation, especially as your bass is refinished! The problem with prototypes is that it would be far too easy for someone to stick the neck onto a homemade body and claim it was 'unique'.

And before you leap to refute that, I'm NOT saying that is the case here BUT it can be one of the reasons that getting a value on such an instrument would be difficult. Could your relative who gave you the bass not give you an idea of value? If you don't want to sell it then tbh the value is pretty immaterial isn't it?If it helps you I've seen early Blade basses sell on eBay for £500ish, while one was advertised (but afaik didn't sell) on here for £750.
